Welcome to AFPICON Karnataka 2022
Family Medicine Update 2022: Leaving no stone unturned!
I take the opportunity to invite you to the 3rd Karnataka State Conference of the Academy of Family Physicians of India (AFPI) with immense pleasure.
As you are well aware, Family Medicine, is the broadest medical speciality that constitutes the centre of Primary Care. Family medicine physicians provide comprehensive health care for people of all ages — from newborns to seniors and uniquely integrate broad and deep clinical skills, leaving no stone unturned by:
● Caring for patients regardless of age or health condition, sustaining an enduring and trusting relationship
● Understanding community-level factors and social determinants of health
● Navigating the health care system with patients, including specialist and hospital care coordination and follow-up
● Using data and technology to coordinate services and enhance care
The 3rd AFPI Karnataka State Conference being held at the Sri Rajendra Centenary Auditorium, JSS Hospital, Mysuru on the 10th and 11th of December, 2022 will serve as a high-quality Family Medicine Update for practitioners, educators, students (undergraduate and postgraduate), and policy makers.
There will be an exciting mix of lectures, case-based workshops, role plays, panel discussions, quizzes, and policy deliberations. Additionally, we have a range of extracurricular activities that delegates can participate in and experience the rich culture and beautiful environs of the historical city of Mysore.
Please do join us for this unique and engaging event. AFPI Karnataka looks forward to your presence and participation.
With warm regards,
The Academy of Family Physicians of India (AFPI) Karnataka chapter has been actively involved in continued medical education of Family Physicians and post graduate students of Family Medicine since 2015. Regular CMEs both online and offline are being conducted with great enthusiasm by its members from time to time. The first state conference was held in 2015 at API Bhavan Bangalore and the second state conference in 2021 at St Johns Medical College. The 4th National Conference (FMPC) was organized in 2019 at IISc, Bangalore.
In continuation of this legacy, the 3rd state conference AFPICON is being organized in Mysuru in association with JSS Hospital at Sri Rajendra Centenary Auditorium on 10th and 11th December 2022. The first day of the conference hopes to expose, enlighten and engage medical students and young doctors to family practice/primary care which is often neglected in their curriculum. The second day is filled with various topics of interest and relevance to Family Physicians.
I heartily welcome you all for this unique conference. Let us exchange ideas, learn and unlearn from each other. Time has come to give Family Medicine its due place in the educational institutions and the Family Physician, in the community. Let us leave no stone unturned!
